 Location: Washington D.C. at a government agency

 

Duration:  Approximately 1 year

Status: Full-Time.  

 

Clearance: Must be able to pass a minimal background check

 

Description:

 

Information Technology (IT)/ Network Engineer professional with extensive experience in variety of internetworking, networking and server/database technologies.

 

DESIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS

 

  • In depth knowledge in hardware assembling, installing, configuring and troubleshooting on Windows NT 4.0/2000/2003 Servers, and/or UNIX and LINUX systems.
  • Hands on experience implementing SQL-based servers (MS SQL 7/Oracle SQL server).
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows 2003 Server-based Domain and Active Directory.
  • Support to the desktop clients for their PC problems.
  • Hands on experience in managing desktops such as Windows XP Professional, Windows 2000, Windows NT and Windows 98/95.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Netscape Communicator and Mail, Outlook Mail, Lotus Notes
  • Good working knowledge of programming languages such as HTML and JavaScript.
  • Planning, implementing and integration of Cisco/other network architecture.
  • Strong hands on experience of installing and configuring Cisco Routers and Switches.
  • Administering and maintaining LAN and WAN architectures.
  • Deployment experience with Network Infrastructure, Intel based Servers and Workstations.
  • IP addresses configuration, Router configuration, setup and connectivity issues.
  • Capacity planning of windows servers and Cisco network infrastructure by growing bandwidth Tier 1 Maintenance and troubleshooting switches/routers
  • Proficient in configuring various network protocols such as TCP/IP, NetBEUI, IPX/SPX, RIP, IGRP and OSPF.
  • Installation and configuration of PIX firewalls/other
  • Design, implement and support DNS, WINS and DHCP servers on Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 Advanced Server including VPN and RAS servers.
  • Implanted and configured Windows 2000 Terminal server.
  • Basic working knowledge Of CITRIX application. 

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS (Desired)

 

BS/BA Engineering/Computer Science or related discipline

Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and/or (MCSA)

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and/or (CCNP)
