Job Purpose:

We are looking to quickly hire a full time Lead QA Software Engineer to join our team. Everything you work on directly impacts our customers and business. You will be involved in projects from inception to launch, having the opportunity to contribute at every stage.  Our development team is small and self-organized, using an agile development approach. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to make a difference, be a part of a passionate team, and gain a lot of experience delivering great products to market.

This hire will be leading the charge on scaling our QA processes and procedures as we ramp up our engineering team. The primary role for this position will include owning the QA process, working with engineering teams in cross-functional agile environment throughout the development process, and creating an automated structure to facilitate rapid development. This hands-on role will provide opportunities for reviewing existing QA processes to design and implement a forward-looking strategy with the goal of support Quality Assurance requirements. We will consider exceptional candidates seeking their first management position however candidates with a proven management track record will be preferred.

The ideal candidate is someone who has a strong understanding of the Web, loves to get things done, and is motivated by creating quality software that solves customers’ problems. We are looking for at least 5 years experience in Quality Assurance, and 3+ years managing QA engineers. We look for people with a strong desire for continuous improvement with a proven track record and experience with agile development practices.

Job Requirements:

• Responsible for working with Engineers and QA resources to ensure quality results

• Automation and streamlining of as much of the QA process as possible

• Provide leadership and direction to QA resources

• Hiring additional QA resources as needed

• Coordinating with internal and external resources

• Understanding of all phases of the software development lifecycle.

• Work with existing QA engineer to define and run manual tests, and build out  automated test suites

• Work with the engineering teams in a Scrum environment throughout the development processes

• Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related experience

• In-depth knowledge of testing processes and methodologies

• 5+ years of QA experience in testing web applications

• Experience working with both Windows and Linux shell environments

Preferred:
• Previous Management experience

• Experience leading/implementing agile/Scrum processes

• Some experience with Perl, or other dynamic languages (2+ years)

• Background in software development
