JOB DESCRIPTION/POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Candidate will perform as a member of the Information Systems and Services development team for the development and integration of IT projects supporting both internal customers and NASA. Under minimal supervision, individual will design and construct complex computer programs applying a comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of software development in order to complete difficult assignments. Daily work assignments are broad in nature, complex, and require originality and ingenuity. Individual will perform work independently within assigned area of responsibility and may be asked to participate on teams and provide guidance to lower level personnel. Work activities will include preparing detailed charts and diagrams to assist in problem analysis and making detailed recommendations for solution. Individual will develop complex data models and will provide data access analysis, design, archive, recovery, load strategy design and implementation. Individual will also coordinate and review new data development to ensure consistency and integration with existing architecture.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, SPECIAL TRAINING:
Strong oral and written communication skills are essential along. Candidate must be able to work with little supervision and have demonstrated project leadership, interpersonal, and team building skills. An understanding of government business processes highly desirable. Broad technical knowledge with web based database and analytical applications to include Microsoft SQL Server and associated tools, Microsoft Reporting Services, HTML, ASP/.NET, IIS, and ORACLE 9.i, Adobe Creative Suite (Cold Fusion), and VMWare required. Highly desirable skills include project management experience and knowledge of the life cycle process and IT Security at Kennedy Space Center. Experience with Deltek CostPoint and Maximo a plus.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/TRAINING:
Minimum of 8 years of professional experience and BS/BA degree in an engineering discipline or Computer Science; or an equivalent combination of experience and education from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired. Thorough understanding of SQL Server, T-SQL, and database design a must. SSIS, SSRS, ColdFusion, Flex, JavaScript & C# is considered a plus.
